Nature of Work
Laboratory-based translational research on thyroid cancer. Conduct experiments, assist with project planning, data interpretation, authorship of presentations and publications, lab management, and training new personnel.

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Cell culture (20%)
- Conducting experiments using techniques including drug treatments, western blots, shRNA/CRISPR, qPCR, protein/RNA/DNA extraction, cloning, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, cell imaging, mouse experiments and dissections, developing new cutting edge techniques (45%)
- Assisting with analysis of bioinformatic data 10%
- Preparing laboratory data for discussion and presentation 5%
- Attending and presenting at laboratory meetings and research conferences 5%
- Assisting with writing of scientific manuscripts and grants 5%
- Assisting with lab management, including purchasing, overseeing student worker and training new personnel 10%

Supervision Exercised
This position will provide training and mentoring to trainees, including graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. This position will oversee the student worker.
Salary Range
The salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $49,000 to $62,000.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Sr. PRA minimum qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant field or Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, and 5 years of relevant experience.
Applicants must have experience in the following techniques:
Cell culture
Animal handling and animal experiments
Molecular biology
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with drug treatments, molecular biology, western blots, shRNA/CRISPR, qPCR, protein/RNA/DNA extraction, cloning, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, cell imaging, mouse experiments and dissections, and developing new cutting edge techniques.
Previous experience in presenting and/or aiding in publications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To be successful in this position, candidates will need the following:
Experience with cell signaling pathways and cancer related research experience.
The candidate must be a highly motivated and resourceful researcher and be able to work independently to move the project forward.
