Nature of Work

The Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH) has an opening for a part-time position at the rank of Senior Professional Research Assistant. The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health has an opening for a half time senior professional research assistant (Sr. PRA) with an interest in environmental health, social sciences, and social justice to join our diverse team of researchers. This individual will work closely with Dr. Katherine Dickinson, an Assistant Professor with a background in environmental economics. Dr. Dickinson’s research projects examine household air quality and energy in Ghana, mosquito-borne disease in Texas, environmental justice in Colorado, and the impacts of public housing renovation. 

The Sr. PRA will assist Dr. Dickinson with interdisciplinary, community-engaged research studies. Candidates should have a strong background in social science and quantitative research methods, have strong organization, communication, writing, and problem-solving skills, and an interest and potential to develop as an independent researcher.

The Colorado School of Public Health is a collaborative endeavor involving the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz), Colorado State University (CSU), and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC).   • Preparation of institutional review board (IRB) protocols
  • Development of funding proposals
  • Community engagement

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position has been established at $54,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, rank, internal equity, experience, education, and area of expertise. The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in relevant field (e.g., economics, geography, public health)
  • Strong quantitative social science data analysis skills, including fluency with statistical software (for example, Stata or R)
