Job Description Summary:
GW Information Technology is the chief provider of technology services and applications at GW. The area partners with all key stakeholders across GW to equip students, faculty, and staff with the technology and tools necessary to achieve academic excellence. This position works within GW Information Technology and ensures collaboration with both University stakeholders and external vendors.
This experienced position manages the overall administration of the university’s physical security systems including video and alarm management systems, which includes operational support; configuration, implementation of change request services, and recommending standards for protocols, electronic interfaces, physical security systems, network management software, and network hardware. Typically with enterprise-wide scope, the core responsibilities of this role are to design information networks for the distribution of physical security and facilities systems data throughout the university, to develop specifications for necessary electronic equipment, and to perform network implementation and troubleshooting. Specifically, this position will perform analysis and diagnosis of complex physical security and networking problems and designs. This position works both independently and as part of a team, and provides escalation support and training for lower-tier support teams. Responsibilities may also include developing and maintaining documentation, evaluating future network requirements, and developing and recommending budget submissions.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Experience leading a team
• Experience designing, implementing and supporting physical security systems
including Video Management Systems and Alarm Management Systems
• Experience working with CBORD CSGold application as it applies to alarms and access control
• Certifications applicable to physical security such as PSP or equivalent knowledge
• Familiarity with procedural and/or object oriented programming.
• Ability to influence change
• Team builder and performance manager
• Fundamental understanding of Networking (Network+ or CCNA)
• Fundamental understanding of VoIP/Video (CCNA Collaboration)
• Experience with Collaboration Solutions (Phone Services) Cisco in particular
• Experience with automation and motivation around leveraging tools
• Strong problem solving skills
• Desire to learn and implement new technologies
• Experience with Genetec VMS and Axis camera configuration and management
• Project management experience
• Experience with Alarm Management systems
Typical Hiring Range $90,175.49 - $146,449.56 How is pay for new employees determined at GW?
