Position Summary
The Senior PET Radiopharmaceutical Technician position is responsible for performing quality control analyses of clinical, investigational and developmental radiopharmaceuticals and supports clinical research development as needed. This position is well suited for an individual with a strong background in analytical analysis (i.e. HPLC, GC, TLC, and so on).


Job Description

Normal laboratory environment. Exposure to radioactive compounds on a daily basis.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs analyses of final radiopharmaceuticals for clinical or research use. Prepares standards used in analysis. Troubleshoots instrumentation that is used for radiopharmaceutical analysis as required.
  • Performs radiopharmaceutical quality control validation tests as required.
  • Performs all aspects of method development required for radiopharmaceutical production and research under supervision of the quality assurance manager or designee.
  • Orders necessary supplies in a timely and cost-efficient manner and ensures the supplies are received following standard operating procedures.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a science related area highly preferred.
  • Experience in analytical chemistry and working with radioactive compounds.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician.
  • Knowledge of personal computers.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform duties quickly and efficiently under time constraints.
  • Ability to use analytical equipment(i.e. High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Thin-Layer Chromatography (TLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC)).
  • Willingness to be trained in the handling of radioactivity.

BS / BA or equivalent experience in a lab or FDG manufacturing facility.

Salary Range
$53,900.00 - $83,500.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
