Job Description

The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) invites applications and nominations for the position of Senior PeopleSoft Administrator. This is a renewable, full-time, non-tenured, administrative position and reports to the Director of Information and Application Services. The position will be located in Las Vegas, or Reno, Nevada.

The NSHE is comprised of eight institutions: two universities, a state college, four community colleges and a research institute. The public system of higher education in Nevada continues to experience growth with significant challenges and opportunities in serving over 105,000 students and 15,000 employees.

A Senior PeopleSoft Administrator is responsible for administration and support of PeopleSoft applications provided by System Computing Services to the NSHE community. A Senior PeopleSoft Administrator will, with little or no assistance, be able to prepare, plan, and implement upgrades, maintenance, and new features. Lead efforts, such as upgrades and other implementations. Troubleshoot PeopleSoft technical and performance issues.

GRADE:  C (starting salary range approximately $90,000 - $110,000) Benefits package includes health, dental, vision, life, and retirement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with four (4) years of professional experience in configuration and maintenance of PeopleSoft Tools and PeopleSoft Applications is required. Alternatively, eight (8) years of professional experience in configuration and maintenance of PeopleSoft Tools and PeopleSoft Applications may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.  

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions in higher education.

The incumbent must have the ability and interest to learn new techniques, tools and methodologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The duties of this position will include, but not be limited to, the following areas of responsibility within Client Services:

  • System Support - Administer/maintain the PeopleSoft application on the web servers, application servers and process schedulers; provide 24/7 technical support; respond to technical inquiries; troubleshoot; migrations; refreshes; interfaces and integration.

  • System Monitoring - Monitor and evaluate application performance; develop and maintain standards and procedures to ensure efficient application performance in accordance with Service Level Agreements.

  • System Upgrades, Patches and Fixes - Research, evaluate, collaborate, plan and participate in application and technology fixes, updates and upgrades.

  • Team Support - Lead efforts, mentor junior level PeopleSoft Administrators, assist various IAS team members with PSA related efforts.
