Position Focus:

Advises leadership and facilitates enterprise initiatives. Plans, develops, implements, evaluates and administers organizational leadership and development programs and services. Responsible for development and integration of key initiatives and, leads multiple projects to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives.


Essential Duties

1. Designs and recommends organizational development strategies, initiatives, programs and interventions in support of the enterprise business strategy. 2. Anticipates organizational impacts of current and future business strategies and develops/provides advice, action plans and interventions to minimize risk and increases organizational performance. 3. Leads the development of organizational and individual effectiveness/performance assessments and the development of recommendations that enable proactive management of business and people issues and risks. 4. Provides Best Practice Organizational Development and Design models and methodology as well as useful applicable research. 5. Identifies, assesses and diagnoses client problems and issues, including data gathering, research and data analysis. 6. Partners with, includes and/or interacts with other HR staff and directors to increase effectiveness and collegiality. 7. Provides leadership in change management and transformation by consulting on and developing strategic and tactical approaches and practices. 8. Provides a broad range of consultative services to all levels of employees. 9. Facilitates select forums and meetings to foster organization learning. 10. May supervise other staff. 11. Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience

Master's Degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field and a minimum of six years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Required Skill/Ability 1:

Demonstrated proficiency with organizational development (OD) principles and tools, such as strategic planning, organizational analysis, needs assessment, team effectiveness, cultural assessment, organizational design, goal setting, instructional design, process improvement, optimizing performance, and expert facilitation.


Required Skill/Ability 2:

Demonstrated ability to design and deliver learning and development interventions within the context of a larger organizational development agenda and talent management programs such as performance management, leadership development, developmental 360 feedback, coaching, and individual development planning.


Required Skill/Ability 3:

Demonstrated ability to consult all levels of management including executive leaders, assess needs, diagnose workforce challenges, propose appropriate interventions to enhance individual and organizational effectiveness in support of strategic goals, negotiate understandings and scope of work with leaders, and coach leaders on their role in relation to the project.


Required Skill/Ability 4:

Demonstrated ability to manage OD and/or learning projects, including defining objectives and intended outcomes, develop simple project plans, manage client relationships, collaborate with project members, spot organizational dynamics and proactively readjust as needed, assess impact and client satisfaction, and build lessons learned into future program planning.


Required Skill/Ability 5:

Excellent “stand-up” skills with a demonstrated ability to teach in small and large group settings, providing information in simple, accessible terms and engaging participants in learning.  Ability to develop and utilize HR metrics to spot organizational trends, analyze data, and develop strategies to monitor and measure effectiveness of progress.
