Job Summary
Provide senior administrative and technical support of wired and wireless enterprise network with a focus on layer three (3) routing, routing in the campus network environment with a focus on EVPN. Routing in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS (Amazon Web Services). Manage AI driven wireless networks. The candidate will also embrace the organization’s Principles of Community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities with areas within the network telecommunications function with a focus on layer three (3) routing and virtual routing and forwarding deployment and software-defined networking.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain the university’s wired and wireless network infrastructure, utilizing advanced knowledge and expertise in Juniper Mist Access Points, Juniper Mist Edge, Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Design, optimize, and manage the high-density wireless network using Juniper Mist infrastructure management tools and Ekahau Wi-Fi measurement tools.
  • Provide support in network projects and requirements.
  • Help to develop and update network policies and procedures.
  • Report, record, and work with departments to resolve network-related issues and incidents.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or four (4) years’ related field experience.
  • CCNA Routing and Switching or JNCIS-ENT Certification.
  • Working, practical experience with Cisco/Juniper network equipment.
  • Working, practical experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in information technology or related field.
  • Experienced with Juniper EVPN.
  • Experienced with Virtual Network (VNET) deployments in Azure.
  • Experienced with Network configuration of Azure and AWS.
  • Certifications related to the duties and responsibilities specified (examples: CCNA Cloud, CCNA Data Center, CCNA Wireless or JNCIP-ENT, JNCIE-ENT).
  • Network automation with Pythion.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of Enterprise Networking and large Wireless Networks.
  • Advanced knowledge of Data Center and Software Defined Networking.
  • Team oriented.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Self-motivated.

  • Will be required to drive a university vehicle and must be complete and submit the UTA Form CO-EHS-F101 Request for Review of Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) to have their driving record history checked and be clear to drive.

Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
