Job Summary

The individual serves as a Per Diem Senior MR Technologist performing scans to facilitate with advanced MR research studies in the UCSF Human Imaging Research Core, solving procedural and technical problems as they arise, and assisting the researchers in analyzing and archiving MR image data.  The individual will be performing imaging studies in the research environment.  This includes injections, safe handling and proper disposal of contrast agents possibly including radiopharmaceuticals.

The position scanning expertise plays a role in helping expand successful research programs at the China Basin imaging center and at Byers Hall.  This includes partnering with new investigators to plan scanning protocol for new studies and interaction with the clinic scheduling to increase usage of the MR.  This requires flexibility and a collaborative work approach.


Department Description

The Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging at UCSF combines clinical excellence, trailblazing research, and outstanding education in a leading academic health sciences institution. Our faculty includes some of the foremost names in diagnostic and interventional radiology today. 

The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging provides state-of-the-art clinical imaging for patients. In addition, it conducts world-class scientific research to develop the next generation of clinical imaging tools and techniques to fight cancer and other life-threatening medical conditions globally.


Required Qualifications

•    Graduate of a formal radiology technology training program in an AMA approved school and 18 months of experience in radiologic technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
•    R.T. (MRI)(ARRT); Venipunctures; BCLS and CPR
•    Recent work experience in an acute care setting
•    Demonstrated record of good attendance and reliability
•    Ability to follow established department guidelines for attendance and tardiness
•    Provides excellent customer service to patients, co-workers, physicians, and other departments


Preferred Qualifications

•    CRT license
•    CT license
•    Nuclear Medicine license
•    Experience performing PET exams


License/Certification

•    R.T. (MRI)(ARRT); CA License & Venipunctures; BCLS and CPR
•    ARRT MRI certification
