Senior Manager, Faculty Affairs

Job Summary:

Responsible for leading the administration of faculty personnel and overseeing human resources functions for faculty and faculty affairs operations. May oversee other managers, larger groups, or programs. 

 

Job Duties:

  • Provides analysis and guidance within the school or department regarding faculty and academic staff appointments, re-appointments, promotions; and recruitment/marketing processes.
  • Ensures review and promotion processes are met, and reviews associated committee reports.
  • Collaborates with the Vice Dean of Faculty Affairs to report on all appointment, promotion and tenure changes.
  • Ensures compliance with all pertinent institutional policies, rules and regulations that are related to the faculty role.
  • Ensures all faculty records related to employment, current licensure, and board certification are maintained, tracked and current.
  • Oversees the financial operations and administers the annual budget for faculty affairs.
  • Manages faculty short-term and long-term projects, endowments and reviews required reports.
  • Oversees new faculty orientation process and content, work with leaders to update as needed to gain efficiency or make process improvements.
  • Serve as point of contact for escalated issues or concerns, as needed, in orienting new faculty within the school units.
  • Management duties include interviewing, selecting and training of employees; planning and directing their work; appraising their productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in their status; handling their complaints and grievances and disciplining them when necessary.
  • May develop strategic plans (1-3 years) that impact multiple schools, stakeholders, or units for process improvement, enhancement or otherwise gain efficiencies.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, Business Management, Human Resources, or related field of study is required.

     

    Experience:

    Seven (7) years of related experience, including at least three (3) years of managerial or leadership experience, is required.

     

    Preferred:

    Experience working with Faculty.
