Position Description:

University of Louisville School of Music

The Unit Business Manager, Senior (UBM Sr) provides oversight and management of all aspects of the daily financial operations for School of Music including budget development, monitoring, and analysis of all financial resources. Serve as Lead Fiscal Officer of the unit.

  • Works with the Dean and the Office of Budget & Finance (and other pertinent offices) to develop the School of Music annual operating budget.
  • Has oversight, in collaboration with the Dean, for managing the School of Music's annual operating budget on a daily basis to ensure appropriate and effective use of funds. 
  • Responsible for assuring compliance with fiscal, Staff HR, and operational policies and procedures consistent with the mission and vision of the University of Louisville.
  • Oversee and approve monthly reconciliations using a dual back up system.  
  • Participate and assist in strategic and operational planning for optimal School of Music use of resources.
  • Develop, improve, and implement fiscally, sound business and administrative processes to help the school move forward in meeting its missions and goals.
  • Prepare unit transactional financial reporting as needed.
  • Supervises School of Music operational support staff.
  • Coordinate with support staff and the UofL Department of Budget and Finance to ensure efficiency and productivity of financial operations, including timely processing of transactions, payments to vendors, travel reimbursements, reconciliation of ProCard, disbursements, bank deposits and invoicing of clients as appropriate.
  • Oversees daily administration of business operations for the School of Music.
  • Coordinate and serve as liaison for special projects.
  • Other additional duties as assigned.
Target Compensation Maximum:

$110,400.00

Target Compensation Minimum:

$73,600.00

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
