Job Description:

The Iowa State University Book Store is a self-supporting auxiliary unit of Iowa State University located in Ames, IA.  As the official bookstore serving Iowa State University, we will provide customers the educational products, services, and resources to support Iowa State University’s mission. 

The position of Senior Logistics Supervisor involves oversight of the ISU Book Store’s logistics department including ecommerce, fulfillment, and logistics operations. Responsibilities include overseeing order fulfillment, inventory management (including transfers between on-and-off site store operations, shipping and receiving processes, managing an offsite warehouse), customer/vendor inquiries, communication with various stakeholders, budget administration, report analysis, process improvement, troubleshooting software systems, conducting physical inventory, and participating in industry events.

The role also involves providing excellent customer service, making decisions during peak sales periods, and managing staff. The ideal candidate should possess persuasive communication skills, negotiation skills, decision-making abilities, independence, organizational skills, multitasking abilities especially during peak times with competing priorities.

Additionally, proficiency in computer skills and flexibility in working hours, including a rotating weekday closing shift, some weekends, and occasional events like the State Fair, Farm Progress, and off-site events are required.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
