SENIOR IT MANAGER, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, to direct and manage the infrastructure, support, maintenance, and operations of IT systems, hardware and software acquisition and renewal, research computing, information security, collaboration platforms, and support. Will build and manage a diverse team including systems administrators, endpoint support engineers, database administrators, and technology consultants; and support a wide range of technology and services while providing proactive and effective technical strategy and planning to a diverse customer base. Responsibilities include team management, off- and on-site incident response, problem management, endpoint management, project management, knowledge management, file server administration and management, vendor relationship management, contract negotiation, business systems analysis, disaster recovery, and building the overall technical and digital strategy for the department.  Will also direct the efforts of a team of administrative and support staff and oversee the work of MIT IS&T and outside consultants.  


Job Requirements
REQUIRED:  B.A./B.S. in information technology, computer science, or similar field; at least seven years of experience in technical leadership, systems administration, research computing, and project management; experience supporting Macs, Windows, Windows Server, iOS, and Android platforms and diagnosing/resolving problems across their software, hardware, and managed service product lines; Experience with Endpoint and Server management services and tools, preferably SCCM, Casper, Active Directory, and VMWare platforms and Active Directory Container administration, networking, and printing; ability to anticipate and respond to client needs in a service organization; experience with cloud and on-premises desktop and server virtualization; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. PREFERRED:  experience working in an academic setting and experience with Linux (Ubuntu or Solaris), and experience with Agile methodology and IT service management (ITIL)  Job #21624-11
