Summary

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is offering a highly motivated and strategic thinker the opportunity to serve as an IT Organizational Change Management (OCM) Lead for technology project and programs. Provides hands-on contributions to information technology projects; responsible for executing the IT adaptive end-to-end OCM methodology for technology projects and programs that support clients in the successful navigation of change resulting from IT-delivered products and services.

 

The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding and proficiency in Organizational Change Management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., communication plans, change impact assessments, resistance management strategies, etc.). It is critical this person possess excellent communication skills of all forms, the ability to adjust written and verbal communication styles based on audience, identify and understand others' feelings, demonstrate active listening, and easily adapt to changing conditions or situations. Additionally, the ideal candidate is a creative thinker with strong presentation, graphic design skills, and public speaking abilities who can transform complex information or concepts into engaging and/or practical information for types of audiences.

 

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) aims to be a trusted partner and thought leader in technology across the College. OIT is organized into five (5) areas dedicated to Mission-specific and Enterprise support.

Job Duties
  • Receives guidance and direction regarding OCM-related activities and deliverables from the Principal, IT Organizational Change Management.
  • Executes and adapts standardized IT OCM methodology to be leveraged for all projects.
  • Provides hands-on design and delivery of OCM project deliverables.
  • Together with the Principal, IT Organizational Change Management, works to promote technology efforts to the overall organization.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive project communication strategies that drive awareness, motivate, and support all impacted stakeholder groups.
  • Together with project and program sponsors, key stakeholders, and other subject matter experts, assesses the degree of change programs and projects will have on existing systems, processes, and people to understand and support the change journey of all affected stakeholder groups.
  • Partners with the program sponsor and appropriate key stakeholders to identify and mitigate areas of resistance or opposition to new processes, policies, requirements, and/or behaviors.
  • Collaborates with program and project team members, subject matter experts, external vendors, and/or key stakeholders to develop and deliver comprehensive, engaging, and effective training and education programs that incorporate multiple forms of media, instructional design best practices, and varied delivery methods that accommodate multiple learning styles throughout the College.
  • Defines achievable and measurable learning objectives to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Works closely with program and project members to identify the OCM-related qualitative and quantitative metrics and appropriate performance assessment tools to measure effectiveness and course-correct if necessary.
  • Develops other key and relevant change management-related project deliverables, advancing projects through leverage of developed change methodology.
  • Helps promote the adoption of good change management practices which support organizational change needs resulting from IT product and service delivery to clients.
  • Provides direct support, guidance, and/or coaching to key stakeholders who are responsible for driving and sustaining adoption or compliance with new ways of working.
  • Maintains and grows key business relationships through the college community.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.   
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prosci Certified Change Practitioner.
  • Experience with or a comprehensive understanding of leading or supporting the development and execution of OCM strategies that support organizational-wide digital transformations.
  • Working experience or demonstrated proficiency in implementing IT organizational change programs for both Waterfall and Agile projects.
  • Understanding of key cybersecurity principles and concepts, cybersecurity controls and defense measures, and current cybersecurity threats.
  • Experience with leading or supporting the development and implementation of organizational-wide cybersecurity programs that inform, educate, and reinforce a strong cybersecurity culture.
