The level of the role (Senior IDM/IAM Engineer or IDM/IAM Engineer) will be determined at the time of hire based on a prospective candidate's level of experience and education.

This position provides complex technical support for the existing IDM/IAM system. This support includes but is not limited to Perl programming, report writing, Linux system maintenance, data investigation. The IDM Engineer will also be part of the team involved in finding and implementing the next generation IAM system for Brandeis.

Job Description:

  • Ensure uptime for, and perform maintenance of IAM codebase. Possess senior advanced technical expertise in analysis and administration of applications using the LAMP stack, as well as Oracle, JavaScript, Python experience. Triage and resolve reported bugs within IAM systems. 60%

  • Plan and implement the next generation of cloud-based Identity and Access Management systems at the University. Integrate and migrate systems based on current industry best practices. Design and implement tools to empower outside teams to perform Identity-based actions (ex. Account diagnostic, Alumni tokens, Merge tool). 20%

  • Investigate and resolve tier-two IAM problems escalated by the internal technical team, as well as other groups. Collaborate with Information Security Office to augment IAM procedures based on security assessments, university policies, or any other circumstances requiring a change management process. 10%

  • Review documentation written by the internal technical team. Provide training, mentoring and code review. 10%

Job Requirements:

  • BS/BA plus 3-5 years of related experience required; 5-8 years for Senior position.

  • Experience with Perl/Python, LDAP, SQL, Google APIs, Linux (RHEL a plus), Apache, JavaScript, Modern web design, SML, JSON.

  • Strong Interpersonal, written, verbal and self-directed project management skills and ability to communicate and work well with faculty, staff and students at the university.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a technical team and independently; ability to help develop technical and nontechnical functional specifications. Contribute to department goals and objectives including long-term strategy.
