Deadline: JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the day to day activities and functions within the Human Resources Department. The University reserves the right to change or assign other duties to this position. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND TASKS: Responsible for all aspects of employee benefits administration. Handle benefit-related questions, requests, issues, and audits. Manage annual benefits open enrollment. Manage all disability leaves. Knowledge of FMLA, NJ FLA, NJ FLI, and COBRA required. Act as liaison to benefits carriers, brokers, and employees. Serve at the human resources consultant to assigned departments providing guidance and support on disciplinary and performance matters, and other HR-related issues. Responsible for report generation for Workers' Compensation, IPEDS, ACA, employee census, quarterly short-term disability, and finance audit. Ad hoc reports as required. Proficiency in generating reports in ADP Workforce Now required. Prepare and calculate all taxable fringe benefits in accordance with IRS regulations. Prepare termination paperwork for payroll, i.e., vacation payout, final pay, severance, etc. Calculate and upload employee paid time off balances into ADP on an annual basis. Manage data entry of workstudy students into ADP. Manage the tuition exchange program and employee tuition program. Coordinate employee events such as annual service awards, Take Our Daughters & Sons to Work Day, health fair, and flu shot clinic. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices. Other duties as assigned. Experience in managing client groups and employee relations issues. Knowledge of HR laws such as FMLA, NJ FLA, FLSA, COBRA, ADA, EEO, etc. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle confidential, sensitive matters with maturity, tact and professionalism. Familiarity with payroll a plus. EDUCATION/SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: Required: Five to seven years’ human resources experience. Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now, including generating reports.
