Description of Work Unit | Colorado State University is a large land-grant research institution employing over 10,000 full and part-time faculty, exempt and non-exempt professionals, classified staff and student employees. The University’s Human Resources Department is led by the Vice President of Human Resources and has responsibility for wide-ranging activities including, but not limited to: all employee benefits; payroll; compensation; Human Resources service center; recruitment, employment selection and classification for State Classified personnel as well as general oversight of the State Personnel System within the University; employee relations; personnel policy development and interpretation; employee records and personnel action processing; and the human resource management information system (HRIS). Position Summary | The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (SR HRBP) advises on and provides advanced expertise on a broad range of Human Resource matters. This individual provides HR leadership, collaborates with various organizational departments and partners directly with leadership to provide professional and advanced HR services. The Senior HRBP engages in complex employee relations management, develops, and delivers professional development and training opportunities for supervisors, managers and HR personnel, and professionally guides and engages in initiatives such as talent acquisition, investigating workplace concerns, mentoring programs, climate and engagement initiatives and recognition platforms. This individual is accountable for administering and supporting policies, procedures and programs that will develop and sustain an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing workforce. The SR HRBP provides HR leadership, expertise, and guidance, and promotes and supports a collaborative team environment, informed by the CSU Principles of Community. They partner heavily with leadership to ensure alignment and understanding of the needs of the departments and the HR services required to meet those needs. This individual assists in the mentoring of other HR partners and liaisons to ensure HR acumen and competency exist at all levels across the University. The SR HRBP will be assigned as primary contact for operational units and/or colleges across the university and will lead campus-wide initiatives. Must be able to effectively lead with influence rather than by positional authority. |
