Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Senior Groundskeeper. - Jupiter, FL

Summary of responsibilities include:

  • Oversees crews and performs all Grounds maintenance duties such as pruning, irrigating, fertilizing, sodding, trimming, mowing, edging, and herbicide and insecticide spraying.
  • Oversees crews and performs the operations of small grounds maintenance equipment such as mower, edgers, trimmers, blowers, and sweepers.
  • Oversees and performs preventive maintenance on all equipment operated. Operate up to 2 1/2 ton trucks.
  • Oversees and performs the installation and maintenance of new landscape constructions.
  • Oversees and operates small and medium size trucks, tractors and scooters.
  • Oversees and works in the plant nursery and be knowledgeable of the propagation and care maintenance of plants.
  • Performs insect and rodent control.
  • Oversees and performs the repair and maintenance of parking lots and sidewalks.
  • Oversees and performs general sanitation and litter control.
  • Oversees and performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of the ninth grade and two years of appropriate experience in plumbing, electrical & general maintenance in a campus environment to service and maintain our buildings and grounds. Training will be provided on our systems and procedures.
Must have a current driver's license.

Salary:

$17.00 per hour.
