Key Responsibilities:

  • This position is part of the Pre-Award Shared Services (PASS) team. Members of this team work primarily with Principal Investigators, various department administrators, the Office of Grants and Contracts, and other members of the PASS team.
  • The major function of this position is to assist faculty in submission and pre-award administration of grants and contracts.
  • In addition to pre-award grant applications and contracts, grant consultants will assist with pre-award additional information requests and post-award grant reports.
  • This position will be responsible for the management, development, implementation, and oversight of pre-award grant functions, including ensuring all applications and agreements follow sponsor guidelines, University guidelines and timelines, and adhere to all grant application regulations and requirements.
  • Senior Grant Consultants are asked to assist with process improvement strategies and the training and mentoring of entry level consultants.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least three (3) years of professional experience in pre-award research administration developing grant budgets including salaries, fringe, modified total direct costs, and accurate indirect cost calculations.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with InfoEd Proposal Development System or similar grant submission software.
  • Experience working in an academic environment or medical center.
  • Proficiency with PeopleSoft (HRMS &/or Finance).
  • Experience preparing and submitting National Institutes of Health grant applications and Research Performance Progress Reports.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and faculty at all levels throughout the institution.

    Anticipated Pay Range:

    The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as $51,883 to $65,995.

    The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
