Job Summary:  

Our Finance professionals are critical to the university’s success.   Under the direction of the Senior Director, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing support and partnership to the Graduate School. This role will support the administrative team, program directors and academic coaches in all aspects of budgeting, financial reporting and analysis and key financial decisions.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Key advisor to the administrative team and program directors on financial matters related to revenue and expense management, position tracking and analysis, annual planning and forecasting.
  • Works with enrollment management, program directors and the academic coaches to accurately forecast enrollment and credit hour targets for all the areas in the school.
  • Develops monthly and quarterly variance reporting and analysis, annual operating budget, quarterly forecast, capital, and operating requests.
  • Participate in the development of programs and proposals to meet the needs of students, optimizing University resources.
  • Monitors use of endowments and donations and assists in the development of grant budgets.
  • Analyzes instructional transfers, provides input on contracts, monitors open positions, maintains budget for temporary faculty.
  • Collaborates with the Undergraduate and Graduate Finance team to balance workloads and develop innovative process improvements.
  • Participate in development opportunities, meetings, and projects as a member of the Finance organization.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related area; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 4-6 years of progressively responsible finance experience.
  • Collaborative teamwork mindset.
  • Knowledge of business principles and accounting operations.
  • Ability to work with diverse customer personalities, backgrounds and possibly conflicting goals or agendas.
  • Able to work across functions and levels to communicate detailed financial information to non-financial audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, high attention to detail, and interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Efficiently manage time and workload on a variety of tasks, reporting and projects.
  • Understands and embodies the Creighton vision and mission. Follows and understands the core values, employee standards of behavior and company policies and procedures.
