Summary

Performs preventative maintenance on university property and assets by responding to work order requests for repairs and maintenance to maintain university facilities, as well as leads project work as assigned

Essential Job Functions

  • Responds to work order and project requests for repairs and maintenance as assigned to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities on campus and provides recommendations for materials needed or modifications to maintenance performed based on existing conditions
  • Supports other staff with complex work order requests and assists with identifying solutions to issues, as needed
  • Develops and manages plans for project completion, including scheduling maintenance, problem resolution and developing and purchasing materials needed, to resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner
  • Responds to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Conducts routine building inspections to make sure the university equipment and systems are operating efficiently, submits work order requests to address issues, as needed
  • Prepares facilities for special events
  • Shovels snow and applies salt, as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Moderate amount of experience working in general maintenance or other related experience
  • Valid U.S. driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Moderate amount of experience servicing commercial kitchen or food processing equipment, to include gas and electric cooking equipment, bakery equipment, refrigeration and freezers
