UW MEDICINE has an exciting opportunity for a LIMITED TERM SENIOR ERP BUSINESS ANALYST (BA).

The UW FINANCE TRANSFORMATION PROGRAM (UWFT) is a $270M initiative to transform the University’s financial systems and processes, including academic, administrative, and healthcare. The scope of UWFT includes replacement of legacy core financial systems with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution called Workday.

UWFT will fundamentally change the processes and tools that the University employs to track, spend, collect, manage, and report University finances in excess of $7B in annual revenues, resulting in more timely and actionable information for leadership. Among the UW’s highest administrative priorities, this multi-year initiative is one of the largest finance system programs in Washington State and the outcome of the program will be highly visible at all levels of the University, the State, and nationally in higher education

The UW has an existing Workday platform, utilizing the HCM/Payroll/Benefits modules. This includes a backend infrastructure around security, access, and report development. The UWFT program will be responsible for implementing new financial modules that need to be integrated into the existing platform and will also need to include significant new functionality for finance. The new modules are scheduled to go live on July 1, 2023.

The SENIOR ERP BUSINESS ANALYST (BA) is a key member of UW Medicine’s – UWFT program team and will take a leadership role in requirements, design, and testing work efforts.  The BA is responsible for facilitating UW Medicine’s move to a single ERP system, which will automate and streamline a broad range of accounting and financial management processes.  The position will work with subject matter experts to document as-is processes, define future state requirements, assist in the new Workday systems and process design, and provide support to the larger UWFT program team to build, test, roll out, and transition to operations.  This position will also provide business analyst support to UW Medicine technical teams that are working to integrate clinical and UW systems to Workday, data conversion, and building a data warehouse and reporting infrastructure.

The migration from multiple ERP systems to a single modern integrated ERP system combined with defining and executing large scale change to achieve the University’s transformation and efficiency goals is a large and complex initiative.  Execution of the UWFT program will require UW Medicine’s accounting, finance, and supply chain staff, management, and leadership to manage both a high level of change while continuing to meet the operational needs of UW’s nationally recognized clinical and research healthcare facilities.  The successful candidate will need to work and help lead with UW Medicine program management to drive change in order to achieve UWFT’s optimization and efficiency goals.

The successful candidate will support UW Medicine Accounting operations and management to deliver the UWFT initiative with minimal disruption to existing operations.  The resource will provide program guidance and support to operational subject matter experts through all phases of the program. In the addition to the duties described above, this position will support UW Medicine UWFT program participants to help them balance their operational and project commitments, escalate and manage issues and risks, represent subject matter experts in design efforts, and collaborate on data collection and analysis as needed.
