Educational Technology Services (ETS) is a part of the Academic Technology Services group that provides technology services, support, and resources to the UC San Diego academic community, facilitating teaching and learning in service of the University's educational mission.

Work with a diverse team at the Media Teaching Facility where media production education is at the forefront of art and communication curriculum. We are a group of media professionals who teach production topics, work one-on-one with students, as well as manage a burgeoning equipment checkout facility to fulfill the needs of student’s production educational needs.

Responsibilities:

Works closely with educational departments to research, consult and implement technical production modalities. Acts as lead in technical multimedia workshops directly supporting media curriculum. Evaluates and maintains media server, including network security and VPN access. Responsible for the maintenance of multimedia computer labs, editing software, and software deployment. Communicates with high-level clients on events of most significance in terms of visibility and impact. Develops, documents, and implements policies, processes and work flow for the unit or services to include video-post production, digital editing, encoding, asset management, web distribution and intellectual property compliance issues. Applies advanced concepts to lead and coordinate AV IT services for the most complex and significant events.

  • Employee must be available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Employee must be available to travel as required.
  • Advanced understanding of media production methods and equipment and ability to use this information to troubleshoot the most complex systems.

  • Advanced technical abilities to lead multimedia workshops which directly support the curricula of several academic departments.

  • Proven ability for the maintenance of multimedia computer labs, editing software, and software deployment.

  • High degree of knowledge within a media education environment which include optimizing server workflows for group curriculum based assignments.

  • Demonstrated ability in creating curriculum content for education departments and their faculty.

  • High degree of knowledge of computer, media, and networking technology.
