Job Description Summary:

The Senior Director will work with the Deputy System CIO of the Texas A&M System to modernize and update the System's financial applications. The senior director will serve on the leadership team to drive forward and implement the determined direction. Special attention will be given to improving the reporting and information delivery to all financial stakeholders of the Texas A&M System. The senior director will provide leadership and direction for the SEA department in developing and implementing a system of customer support and service strategy, including websites, end user training and organizational change management. 

Responsibilities:

- Engage stakeholders at all levels of the Texas A&M System to determine and clarify needs and requirements of a new financial system. Continue to engage with stakeholders throughout the entire process to ensure all business requirements are fulfilled. 
- Assemble resources and team members for successful financial project implementation.

- Issue RFPs, engage consultants, manage budgets, and hire staff to support the implementation. 
- Along with other members of the leadership team, executive and lead the project for a new or updated financial system, including a financial reporting strategy that meets broad based needs across the A&M System. 
- Conduct A&M system-wide complex business analysis of business processes, and internal and external requirements.

- Create white papers and strategy documents outlining options and recommendation.

- Recommend business process re-design and re-engineering to ensure efficiency and effective processes are used throughout the A&M System.

- Make presentations to executive and other stakeholder groups. 
- Along with the other leadership of the SEA department develop and implement a strong customer support and service strategy to ensure excellent customer service across all units. To include, but not limited to help/incident management, help and support websites, end user training and organizational change management. 
- Engage in professional development, training, and knowledge building to ensure that recommendations are decisions are in alignment with best practices and provide the best value to the A&M System. 
- Other duties as assigned. 

Education and Experience:

-Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

-Ten years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Knowledge of accounting principals and practices and their implementation in software applications.

- Knowledge of system solutions, change management, training, and organizational impact of major ERP systems.

- Ability to meet with users to gather and document system requirements.

- Occasional travel and work outside scheduled hours.

- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. 

Preferred Qualifications:

- CPA Preferred. 
- Knowledge of the Texas A&M Systems Financial Software Systems.
