Parking & Transportation is an auxiliary unit of Georgia State University. The mission of Auxiliary and Support Services is to provide high quality administrative and educational support services to the Georgia State University community and constituents, in support of the University’s mission of teaching, research and public service, positively impacting the quality of campus life through professionalism, excellence and caring.

 

The Department of Parking-University Operations is seeking to hire an experienced Senior Director, Parking & Transportation. The Senior Director, Parking & Transportation is responsible for managing staff and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department. This includes providing innovative parking and transportation solutions that serve and support the university.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

The Senior Director for Parking & Transportation is responsible for the leadership, administration, management, budgeting, planning and coordination of the Parking & Transportation Department.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Develop/implement long term strategic goals/objectives that will enhance and improve the parking and transportation programs in support of Georgia State University’s mission and initiatives.
  • Liaison with outside organizations on all aspects of Georgia State University parking and transportation.
  • Maintain a consistent, high quality, customer-focused orientation when conducting business and providing services to the campus community.
  • Manage day to day interactions with campus community members, administrators, partners, and visitors to communicate and resolve any issues or conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Represent the department with formal and informal speaking engagement and presentations on parking and transportation initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

: 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and six years of supervisory/management experience or a combination of training and experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Ability to handle many assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to focus on priority projects and tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Extended standing, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work in all temperature conditions. 
  • Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
