Summary of Duties:
As the Senior Director of Prospect Development, you will plan, organize, and direct the operations of the Prospect Development team of the WSU Foundation (WSUF) to support WSUF for an annual average of $200M in donations during WSU's $2B campaign. This team is comprised of two distinct units which include Prospect Research and Prospect Management. In this role you will be responsible for an operating budget of approximately $140,000 and will supervise 5-7 FTE staff and additional temporary positions. Additionally, you will be responsible for directing program operations, defining scope of work, and utilization of resources and will be accountable for programmatic results. To ensure strategic success in this role, you will regularly exercise independent judgment and discretion in setting management policies and protocols, guiding departmental business operations, and making commitments that affect all units under your supervision.
This position is eligible to be fully remote, hybrid, or in-person at Town Centre in Pullman, WA.
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and six (6) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least three (3) years of managerial experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment.
  • Demonstrated experience with oral presentations and written communications and the ability to quickly acquire working knowledge of the policies, principles, and processes of the university.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Prospect Development principles, trends, and operations.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to communicate effectively with the diverse audiences including students, staff, and faculty members.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaborative with diverse internal and external audiences.
  • Previous experience supervising and leading a team or unit.
  • Proven ability to perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment, discretion, and leadership including the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in related field.
  • Proven record of involvement in professional associations, including AASP and APRA.
  • Previous work experience in a complex fundraising environment.

Monthly Salary: $7,541.56 - $11,795.78 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
