Position Summary: The individual works as a key member of the Office of Marketing & Communications, which is charged with protecting and elevating the reputation of Yeshiva University, and conveying its messages, mission and vision to the community and broader world. The individual, reporting to the Vice President and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, helps lead the University’s strategic marketing efforts in the U.S. and Israel and builds awareness and recognition of the University to key constituencies as a leading academic institution with a unique positioning. The Senior Director will oversee a team of advertising and web professionals.
Position Responsibilities:  • Develop a cohesive and compelling brand voice for all University graduate schools including brand standards, and execution across all marketing channels
• Conduct ongoing market research and competitor analysis to identify whitespaces for positioning and product development
• Oversee implementation of Customer Relations Management software (CRM) and all email marketing efforts
• Oversee University’s on campus digital signage system
• Coordinate development of all necessary marketing materials including but not limited to print collateral, digital assets (videos, podcasts), whitepapers, brochures and testimonials
• Mentor and develop junior staff
• Work with the Director of Communications and Marketing and Creative Director to oversee integrated university-wide marketing strategy to raise YU’s brand awareness, deliver key messaging, and increase community engagement across multiple platforms, including but not limited to: advertising, e-mail marketing, sponsorships, digital media, SEO, SEM, social media, print materials, and special events.
• Lead the development and coordination of University advertising campaigns, both traditional and digital, ensuring cohesive branding and messaging throughout.
• Coordinate university-wide marketing calendar and manage all components of campaign development, implementation and measurement.
• Monitor and measure campaigns to leverage insights to improve marketing effectiveness.
• In conjunction with the Director of Communications and Marketing, and Creative Director, work with all departments and schools to synergize marketing efforts across the university.
• Support the Director of Communications and Marketing and the University’s social media strategy, including content development and curation, campaign management, community engagement and growth, and measurement. Manage social media accounts on behalf of selected schools/programs.
• Oversee the University Internet and keep content compelling and up to date.
• Manage agencies and freelancers to ensure digital marketing objectives and promotional materials, including video campaigns, are met.
• Working with an outside agency, develop revenue-generating opportunities through advertising sales and sponsorships, which comply with University values, standards and culture.
Experience & Education Background: • 10+ years of marketing or advertising experience
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing or related field preferred
• Experienced with SEO, SEM, digital monitoring and measurement
• Experienced in agency management and budgeting
• Experience in overseeing large scale web projects
Skills & Competencies: • Must be a strong leader and manager
• Excellent writing skills and a strong creative background
• Adept at social media with excellent judgment in online engagement
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Ability manage multiple internal and external relationships at varying levels
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a creative, fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with higher education and Jewish community a plus
