Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Facility Management, this position oversees the day-to-day operation of the business unit-facing facility operations.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Functional areas include operation and maintenance, auxiliary services, exteriors, building residential services, and fire safety operations. Responsible for helping to ensure that students, faculty, and staff have a positive facilities experience.
  • Oversees negotiation of contracts for safety, environmental, and maintenance solutions. Oversees all operating budgets as well as maintenance, rehabilitation, and repair activity.
  • Directly supervises a staff of six with indirect supervision of approximately 500 employees, working three shifts; some operations are scheduled 24/7.
  • Responsible for addressing all emergency situations arising in the facilities area.
  • Assists the Associate Vice President with projects, allocating staffing levels, and organizational structure to meet changing conditions.
  • Interacts with internal and external customers and makes presentations to departments and campus constituents on related topics.
  • Represents Campus Services on university committees. Performs other related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field, and ten years of experience in building operations and maintenance, which includes progressive, demonstrated management/supervisory experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A master's degree is preferred. A working knowledge of capital construction and federal, state, and local building codes.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
