Purpose

The Senior Director, Executive Recruitment and Talent Acquisition provides strategic, hands-on, and innovative leadership to drive the attraction, engagement, acquisition, and retention of complex and in-demand executive (faculty and non-faculty) and staff positions within the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), maintaining a commitment to attract a diverse candidate pool. This role is critical to ensuring MCW maintains a competitive edge by bringing in high-caliber talent that aligns with our values and are committed to our missions of patient care, education, research, and community engagement.

Primary Functions

Leadership and Strategy

  • Develop and execute an end-to-end recruitment strategy for executive and staff positions to help drive business results and to consistently attract the best talent to the organization.
  • Oversee the full-cycle executive and staff recruitment processes including (but not limited to) sourcing and pathway initiatives, interviewing, collecting feedback, onboarding as well as providing a "best in class" experience for our candidates.
  • Collaborate with the CEO/President, Provost/Dean School of Medicine and other institutional leaders on executive and staff opportunities within strategic plans.
  • Facilitate the prioritization of recruitment efforts enabling the achievement of institutional goals.
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the recruitment functions within Workday.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement technology to support the effectiveness and efficiency of recruitment strategies.
  • Identify, develop, and foster positive relationships with local and regional career partners.
  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
  • Set clear team goals and accountabilities, while also overseeing day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor team performance and report on individual and team metrics.
  • Identify training needs and provide coaching to team members, as needed.
  • Listen to team members’ feedback, resolve issues, recognize high performance, manage underperformance, and reward accomplishments.
  • Plan and adhere to budgets for individual searches and the recruitment function at-large.

Recruitment

  • Oversee the recruitment process and candidate experience for executive (faculty and non-faculty) roles, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Direct the talent acquisition team in identifying and recruiting high-potential candidates.
  • Guide the candidate experience to ensure a seamless and positive journey from application to onboarding.
  • Assist in the resolution of recruitment issues or challenges.
  • Serve as the primary collaborator with engaged recruitment firms.
  • Perform or delegate to team members the following tasks:
    • Prepare job descriptions and job postings for appropriate positions.
    • Develop recruitment campaigns and proactively source candidates.
    • Research and attend job fairs, conferences, and other recruiting events.
    • Research websites and other appropriate resources to advertise career opportunities.
    • Develop promotional materials used in recruitment activities.
    • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential candidates through networking, industry events and research.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with academic institutions and professional organizations to attract distinguished candidates.
    • Maintain an applicant tracking database reflecting open positions, as well as the status of recruitment for all positions.
    • Coordinate and standardize appropriate aspects of candidate itineraries, agendas, and onsite visits.
    • Assist with professional reference evaluation and interviewer feedback.
    • Provide a seamless and organized recruitment through onboarding continuum.
    • Provide a seamless and effective onboarding experience that ensures new hires have the resources and support needed to quickly integrate into the organization.

Compliance and Best Practices

  • Ensure compliance with OFCCP and all applicable regulations and laws.
  • Partner with Office of Diversity & Inclusion to drive the acceleration of diverse talent across the talent pipelines.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key metrics and measurements to demonstrate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and continuously improve processes.
  • Partner with other Human Resources/Faculty Affairs functions to formulate and execute selection, turnover, retention, talent development, and diversity strategies.
  • Partner with APP and Provider Recruitment team to ensure a consistent candidate experience, maximize career marketing strategies, gather market intelligence, and promote new or potential hires.

Monday - Friday 8:00-5:00

Position Requirements:

Specifications

Minimum Required Education:      Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

Preferred Education:                       Masters degree and/or related HR certifications.

Minimum Required Experience:    10+ years in recruitment with 3+ years executive recruitment

Preferred Experience:                     5+ years in healthcare or academic medicine experience preferred; experience with Workday preferred.
