Job Description

We’re seeking a Senior Curriculum Designer to join a team that creates innovative curricula enhanced by the immersive technologies of Dreamscape Learn. This opportunity could be an ideal fit if you possess a strong passion for creating cutting-edge educational products and solutions that incorporate virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies. The senior curricular designer will manage other designers and collaborate with story writers, VR developers, subject-matter experts, and researchers while developing engaging, interactive curricula
using best practices in education.

Dreamscape Learn (DSL) is a collaborative venture between Arizona State University and Dreamscape Immersive, merging the most advanced experiential pedagogy with the best cinematic storytelling to deliver immersive learning experiences that are demonstrably efficacious, readily scalable, and emotionally engaging. These immersive
experiences combine the emotional power of Hollywood storytelling, the visceral excitement of theme park rides, and an extraordinary mix of full body tracking and interactivity to create stories and worlds that push the limits of what is possible in virtual reality.

Essential Duties
● Under the direction of an Associate Director of Curriculum Design, the successful candidate will manage curriculum designers and collaborate with story writers, R developers, subject-matter experts, and researchers to design and implement engaging, interactive curricula using best practices in education, as described by
the following:

○ Use national and local recommendations of subject-matter experts to develop learning goals for DSL courses and organize these goals into clear and logical learning progressions.
○ Translate learning goals into learning materials, including lessons, activities, and assessments.
○ Effectively and creatively use technology to enhance and scale learning in DSL courses. 

● Manage the development of one or more sets of curricula across different disciplines simultaneously.
● Communicate with the Associate Director of Curriculum Design to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality curricula.
● Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of technology and adapting or implementing recommended changes in learning materials to improve learning outcomes.
● Develop and maintain resources for instructors, such as tutorials, reference materials, design standards, templates, and tools.
● Remain proficient in the best educational practices and adapt or revise learning material according to changing standards.
● Help to establish specifications for identifying or designing innovative educational software, such as adaptive or personalized learning platforms, for use in DSL courses.
● Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Education or a related field, AND five (5) years of providing learning/curriculum/instructional design and/or technology development services. Or, any equivalent combination of experience or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications
●Evidence of a  Master’s degree in education or a related field.
● Knowledge of effective curricular and instructional design, pedagogical approaches, and educational technologies
● Competency with industry-leading technologies and products for developing materials for learning and instruction.
● Experience using learning management systems.
● Effective organization and time-management skills in an environment with multiple priorities and short deadlines.
● Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
● Experience developing educational products as part of a team.
● Experience managing teams of professionals with different skill sets.
● Ability to work across disciplines and fields.

Working Environment

This position work location is Tempe Campus, Creative Commons.

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks.
