Senior CRM Developer

The Senior CRM Developer is a highly proficient Salesforce developer and analyst, playing a pivotal role in driving technology solutions across the organization. Working both independently and as a part of diverse teams, they will collaborate extensively with members of business offices to define comprehensive business requirements for technology solutions.

As an integral member of project teams, the Senior CRM Developer will oversee the implementation of commercial, open-source, and cloud-based applications, both within Salesforce and third-party platforms. They will serve as the primary liaison between business owners, internal and external technology solution providers, and will be responsible for designing, enhancing, and maintaining custom-built applications within Salesforce.

They will provide high-level technical and analytical support throughout all phases of the University application software life cycle. Their expertise will be crucial in working with custom-built applications, purchased packages, and other automation technologies to support administrative customers' needs.

The Senior CRM Developer will primarily support the Division of Pre-College and Undergraduate Programs.  The Division of Pre-College and Undergraduate Programs is responsible for developing and offering non-credit and credit courses and programs for 6000 high school students, as well as Brown University undergraduate and Visiting Students from other institutions. Students participate in programs on Brown University’s Providence campus, as well as online and in other locations. Due to the close collaboration with the Division of Pre-College & Undergraduate Programs, the Senior CRM Developer will also be responsible for collaborating with, providing status updates to, and having work reviewed by, the Director of Systems & Projects within the Division for any Pre-College related work. The Senior CRM Developer will provide secondary support for other business units across the university.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 3-5 years’ experience working with large scale ERP systems and CRM applications, with direct experience using Salesforce.

  • Demonstrated experience developing Lightning Components and VisualForce pages.

  • Experience supporting recruitment, admissions, and enrollment areas in a higher education institution preferred.

  • Ability to understand large scale systems within the landscape and/or constraints of a multi-constituent environment and appreciate that such complexities may require alternative approaches to system implementations.

  • Experience with Salesforce Object Query Language  (SOQL)/ Salesforce Object Search Language (SOSL) strongly preferred

  • Experience with relational database management systems required along with strong SQL programming skills preferred.

  • Salesforce-related Apex coding, or Java equivalent required.

  • Strong understanding of Apex design patterns.

  • Platform App Builder & Developer I Salesforce Certifications preferred.

  • Experience with Marketing Cloud is a significant plus

  • Knowledge and work experience with application integrations, particularly REST & SOAP API capabilities.

  • Experience working with advanced triggers with multiple functions, front end development, building beyond the standard Salesforce UI.

  • Experience working with large data sets and complex security requirements.

  • Strong analysis skills required.

  • Ability to work effectively with people with differing levels of technical knowledge.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both oral and written).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Work experience in an academic environment is preferable.

  • A working knowledge of mainstream desktop software.

  • Familiarity with the full software development life cycle.

  • Ability and desire for independent learning.

  • Demonstrates a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.

Successful completion of a criminal background check and education verification is required.
