Position Highlights | Please Note: The Rate of Pay has been updated from "$53,039- DOE" to "$53,039 - $66,299". The STEM Education Senior Coordinator will work independently to support the education efforts of the New Frontiers of Sound (NewFoS) Science Technology Center (STC). The Senior Coordinator will be supervised by the NewFoS Education and Broadening Participation (EBP) Director. They will work independently to collaborate with the education team and researchers at all institutions. The Center seeks applicants who have direct experience working on educational program design, lesson writing, STEM education, and working with minoritized communities. The applicant should be committed to advancing science and innovation and understanding the systemic causes of under-representation in STEM. Extensive knowledge and use of curriculum and program design principles, theories and concepts. As a new emergent center, the applicant we seek will be creative and work collaboratively to develop new approaches or techniques in support of educational activities for students and faculty in STEM. The STEM Education Senior Coordinator will support the inclusion education efforts of the New Frontiers of Sound (NewFoS) Science Technology Center (STC). Newly funded by the National Science Foundation and led by UArizona’s College of Engineering, the center researches the emergent and growing field of topological acoustics. At NewFoS, we see this as an opportunity to create an inclusive center that is nurturing, respectful, and diverse to unleash the creativity of learners in topological acoustics research. Our goal is to model an equitable and future-facing environment in all NewFoS labs, classes, and cross-institutional collaborations by enhancing learning opportunities that foster engagement, respect, and innovation. The Center will be coordinating and supporting multiple educational programs across the center’s university partners: CalTech, CUNY, the UC-Boulder, Georgia Tech, Spelman College, UCLA, ASU, UAlaska-Fairbanks, and Wayne State University.
