The Stanford Center on Early Childhood , an initiative of the Stanford Accelerator for Learning , seeks a full time Senior Coordinator to join our team. The Senior Coordinator will work under the direction of the Community Program Manager to implement and administer the vision, strategy, and goals of the Community Fellows Program, a new fellowship for professionals working in community-based early childhood systems.

Note: This position is a 1-year fixed term appointment that may be renewed based on performance and funding. This position is eligible for a hybrid work agreement and limited travel may be required for convenings and events. Housed at Stanford Graduate School of Education , the Stanford Accelerator for Learning (SAL) is a research hub that connects experts from the sciences, medicine, engineering, law, and humanities to expedite learning solutions for all learners. The first university-wide initiative to connect Stanford scholars across disciplines with external partners in the field, SAL bridges research, innovation, practice, and policy to achieve true system change. SAL is currently focused on six areas of research that show high need and high promise for transformational change. These areas include digital learning, early childhood education, learning differences, equity in learning, policy and systems change, and adult and workforce learning.

The Stanford Center on Early Childhood (SCEC) is an initiative of the Stanford Accelerator for Learning. The SCEC leverages the current moment of revolutionary science and fosters deep omnidirectional collaboration across sectors, seeking to change the way that research in early childhood is conducted, communicated, and utilized, with the overarching goal that each and every child thrives from the start.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Community Program Manager and work closely to implement the SCEC’s new Community Fellows Program. The Community Fellows Program seeks to provide professional development to professionals working in early childhood community programs, focused on the areas of research practice partnerships and data literacy. The Community Fellows Program will draw on data provided by the RAPID Survey Project as a primary source for fellowship projects. Specifically, the Community Fellows Program will provide mentorship and curriculum to support fellows in utilizing data and research partnerships to effect policy change in their community context.

The Senior Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and administering the program, ensuring that project timelines and goals are met for recruitment, launch, and other key milestones of the program. The Senior Coordinator will be the primary logistical coordinator of the program and will have primary responsibility for building community and peer support among and between the fellows. Responsibilities will include arranging convenings at least annually; organizing and implementing the recruitment process for the Community Fellows program; developing and implementing communications and outreach for the program; acting as the primary point of contact for Fellows as well as consultants and vendors; organizing timing and coordination of speakers and courses; and working closely with the SCEC Operations and Finance Team to execute agreements and ensure that all logistical and administrative needs of the program are met.

In addition to the RAPID Community Fellowships, the Senior Coordinator will support the coordination needs of the SCEC community strategy. This may include organizing and implementing additional convenings or communities of practice for community organizations; providing support in communication and disseminating products of pilot programs including community-based case studies and neighborhood spotlights; and working with vendors and consultants to execute agreements and track deliverables. These pilot programs are designed to uplift and highlight the critical innovations and expertise happening in communities across the country. The successful candidate for this role will bring their lived experience to these emerging programs.

The person in this role will work closely with the Community Fellows, community-based organizations, and with a variety of faculty, vendors, and consultants. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and project management skills as well as experience working in community contexts and the ability to establish authentic and collaborative engagement with community-based organizations and early childhood professionals.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and administer program activities by evaluating programs, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and coordinating and implementing changes.
  • Collect and analyze data on SCEC community programs, create reports, review and explain trends to determine program effectiveness; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the programs.
  • Assist in the administration of Community Fellows courses. Advise in the development of curriculum. Make recommendations for program improvements.
  • Write and edit content for program activities under the general direction of the Community Program Manager.
  • Represent the program or function as the key contact and subject matter expert within the unit and develop communications for internal and external constituencies. Organize and/or participate in outreach activities such as events, partnerships, fundraising, training, and conferences.
  • Lead workshops and facilitate meetings.
  • Work with the Operations and Finance Director and the Community Program Manager to monitor expenses, budgets, and finances of the program. Make recommendations on funding based on program spend.
  • May oversee and train student workers.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required for some programs. Program administration and or research experience may be required.
  • Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.

Ability to oversee and provide basic direction to staff.

  • Ability and experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders, including community members
  • Experience working in the fields of early childhood development, education, public health, or healthcare

The expected pay range for this position is $69,000 to $99,000 per annum.
