Position Summary | This position will serve as a Senior Clinical Research Participant Coordinator within UNC Kidney Center. The Senior Clinical Research Participant Coordinator has a full knowledge of research and is responsible for independently planning, organizing, and evaluating clinical research participant management and data collection for a variety of complex clinical research protocols, including leading efforts in evaluating and modifying data collection and recruitment methods, liaising between study staff, participants, and clinical staff, and data collection. The Senior Clinical Research Participant Coordinator facilitates the integration of research activities into the clinical care environment, conveying information to a variety of individuals and groups while instructing and educating clinical staff and providers. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work and communicate with diverse populations effectively and professionally. Ability to work independently as well as function as part of a team. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Candidate must be a master multi-tasker with excellent attention to detail. Candidate must have excellent communication skills (written and oral) in order to obtain informed consent and explain research process and procedures. Candidate must be comfortable working in a team setting and interacting closely with physician-investigators, colleagues, and research subjects. Candidate must be able to independently manage regulatory documents including IRB protocol submissions, modifications and renewals. Candidate must be able to collect, process, and transport biologic specimens such as blood, urine, and saliva and must be willing to travel off site to outpatient clinics for subject recruitment and study visits. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Prefer candidate who Is familiar with clinical trials systems at UNC and Implementing research studies at UNC (IRBIS, CTRC, CAMS, WebCIS/EPIC, etc.). Phlebotomy and ability to obtain basic vital signs is a plus. |
