The University of Miami UHEALTH Plantation has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Assistant.
• Schedules follow-up appointments as indicated by the physician adhering to Patient Appointments Policies and Procedures.
• Schedules all IR procedures.
• Build patient’s chart for triage, if any discrepancies on order, employee is responsible for contacting referring physician to obtain a corrected order.
• Provides pertinent information to insurance verifier when the patient needs an authorization to make sure one is obtained in a timely matter.
• Edits, Cancels, No-Shows patient appointment accurately with a zero % margin of error rate.
• Follows Patient Appointment guidelines pertaining to overbooking, scheduling, appointment types, etc.
• Screens patient for any possible contraindications.
• Search UChart and print the most recent Lab work, if the patient did not have their labs done at our facility the employee is required to contact requesting physician’s office to obtain the most recent labs.
• Provides next day nursing schedule.
• Provide translation when requested and facilitate departmental flow as necessary.
• Cover WR as requested.
• Answer incoming telephone calls to the clinic.
• Monitors the work list for the next day on a consistent basis.
• Reviews all patients’ appointments and notes in the system if there is important information for technologist/nurse.
• Responsible for scheduling same day request for invasive procedures (pain management) for interventional radiology.
• May serve as a team lead or subject matter expert to other employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):
• High School Diploma.
• Three years relevant experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
