Join our team as a Senior Autonomy Engineer within our Applied Sensing division!

This specialized researcher will be responsible for developing practical single and multi-vehicle autonomous solutions across a variety of projects. The Autonomous Engineer research involves coordinating, synchronizing, and overseeing groups of autonomous vehicles involving control theory, computer science, and human factors.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science in aerospace, electrical, computer engineering or equivalent
* Experience in developing algorithms for controlling and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV)
* 8 years’ of related experience
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

* PhD in electrical, computer engineering or equivalent
* 12+ years’ experience in research related to decentralized, cooperative control of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV)
* Experience with systems engineering for multi-vehicle teams of autonomous UAS
* Extensive hands-on experience planning and executing UAS flight tests
* Publications of research results in multi-vehicle UAV in recognized journals and conference proceedings
* Experience involving verification and validation techniques such as "Formal Methods" applied to multi-vehicle UAS autonomy
* Experience with Human-autonomy interactions in UAV systems
* Experience with estimation and path planning for UAV
* Experience with open systems including OMS (open mission systems)
* Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance
* Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities
