Position Description

Reporting to the Registrar for the Division of Continuing Education (DCE), the Sr. Associate Registrar oversees the systems and technology unit of the DCE Registrar's Office and holds primary responsibility for the integration and management of new strategic, technical, programmatic, and other division-wide initiatives into student operations. The Sr. Associate Registrar also serves as a key member of the Registrar's senior management team and works closely with functional and technical experts across a wide range of academic, student service, and IT areas.

Specific duties include:

  • Oversees the Registrar's Office operations and student services unit (a team of four) and data management-QA unit (a team of 3).
  • Plays a lead role in the design, implementation, and ongoing development of division student systems. Ensures development of functional specifications and end-user testing to support system modifications and technology upgrades and implementations; serves as subject matter expert in student systems and processes and maintains this level of expertise as systems evolve.
  • Collaborates with division stakeholders on the development and implementation of strategic solutions to continuously improve and streamline student service experiences; determines best practices for integrating new strategic initiatives and services into current operations; develops associated policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for DCE student identity and access management governing ID provisioning and student roles at the University; responsible for new student onboarding and arrival events, ensuring consistency and accuracy in student data and record creation across a variety of onboarding pathways and systems.
  • Oversees the management, reporting, and exchange of DCE student data across division and University systems; develops division best practices in support of data integrity across these systems. Investigates complex student data issues and collaborates with HUIT/IAM technical managers on the implementation of University initiatives related to student data, identity, and access.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 8 years’ relevant work experience
  • Supervisory experience

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Expertise with Banner SIS, Salesforce CRM, or similar enterprise systems preferred.
  • Ability to think analytically, systemically, and strategically; experience managing multiple competing projects and priorities effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills; ability to work with individuals of all professional levels and coordinate inter-departmental processes/procedures.
  • Ability to promote an innovative and inclusive work environment.
  • Experience working in a complex environment with a broad diversity of courses, students, and special programs.
  • Nimbleness in an ever-changing environment, creative thinking, resourcefulness, and a proactive mindset.
