The Senior Associate Director, Advancement Communications is responsible for overseeing the project management of Advancement Communications projects that inspire and engage the Babson community, strengthen fundraising and engagement initiatives, and promote the Babson brand. In collaboration with members of the Advancement team, this role will create and distribute annual fund and major gift communications, print pieces, e-marketing, campaign materials, alumni engagement and event opportunities, and other forms of digital and print communications. In addition, this role is also responsible for writing and art direction as well as tracking and analyzing data to make informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Senior Director, Advancement Communications, responsible for implementing a holistic Advancement communications strategy to drive alumni engagement, increase annual fund participation and major gift support, highlight Advancement initiatives, and ensure widespread communications regarding Advancement and the Babson brand.
  • Serve as lead project manager for Advancement communication projects which includes creating an effective process to track, edit, monitor, and execute all projects in a timely, organized fashion; ensuring that all visual elements and messaging inspire and engage donors, and are in alignment with the Babson brand and College brand guidelines; and using project management system to record and maintain project details, and appropriately streamline and reduce workflow inefficiencies.
  • Create, write, edit, and distribute creative and persuasive content that is aligned with core messaging for all Advancement channels and constituents.
  • Oversee campus-wide digital calendaring and collaborate with colleagues across campus to manage communication partnerships that support the goals, campaigns, and initiatives of Advancement.
  • Create and refine high-quality, compelling presentations, graphics, and related materials to highlight and promote Advancement events and initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with a professional presence and build strong working relationships with design and editorial counterparts within the Office of Marketing’s Creative Services team; oversee relationships with vendors.
  • Responsible for contributing strategic recommendations for the ongoing planning and enhancements of Advancement communications.
  • Work with IT and Advancement Services teams to implement technologies and best practices to develop and deliver a coordinated email marketing segmentation strategy.
  • Provide training and development of staff to ensure that they articulate creative strategies and communicate ideas effectively to individuals across all areas of Advancement, and ensure growth and development of staff.
  • Assist with social media outreach and website content, maintenance, and user experience.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

Education Requirements:

Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, or related field

Position Knowledge/Skills & Abilities Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must have superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have experience using content management systems.
  • Must have experience with Constant Contact.
  • Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Google Drive/Docs and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook/Calendar).
  • Must have a keen interest in the latest developments, industry trends, and best practices for digital marketing and social media.
  • Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be team-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to think creatively and analytically.

  • Familiarity with video editing and production.

Working Conditions:                                     

  • Babson College requires all Babson faculty and staff members authorized to work on our campuses or any other property owned or controlled by the College to verify that they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
