Position Summary
The Senior Assistant Registrar, as a direct report to the Associate Registrar for Academic Infrastructure, is a member of the Registrar’s leadership team and is expected to be an engaged and effective manager and an active participant in improving services throughout the URO and the university. The Senior Assistant Registrar is primarily responsible for the leadership and oversight of the scheduling of courses, classroom assignments, the Degree Works software, NCAA certification and the degree clearance process. The Senior Assistant Registrars leads the staff members in each of these areas in the strategic planning and execution of these critical processes. Additionally, this position requires a solid understanding of how to leverage information and ideas to support student needs and the institution’s strategic goals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, or a combination of education and experience
  • Experience with academic scheduling management for a large university
  • Three years of experience scribing academic programs in Degree Works
  • Experience using student information systems, preferably Banner 9. Ability to learn, use, and maximize functionality associated with software related to fulfillment of responsibilities
  • Strong commitment to innovation as demonstrated by the ability to be proactive, dynamic, forward-thinking, strategic, and collaborative
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and foster collaboration with a wide variety of university clientele
  • Proven ability to effect and manage change
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Three to five years of experience in a registrar’s, admissions, or academic advising office
