Description

The University of Chicago’s Department of Surgery, Section of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, is searching for a full-time Associate Professor or Professor. The appointee will be a fellowship-trained, experienced vascular surgeon who is an internationally recognized expert in vascular surgery and specializes in the treatment of complex aortic diseases. The appointee will also serve as the Surgical Co-Director of the Center for Aortic Diseases, leading strategic initiatives to expand the program and enhance outcomes in collaboration with the Cardiac Surgery Co-Director.

This position is oriented toward clinical leadership, innovation, and clinical practice. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. We especially welcome applicants with a history of outreach and programmatic advancement, success in clinical research and trials, and an interest in quality assurance and program improvement. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

The University of Chicago Heart & Vascular Center has nationally recognized research and education programs that build on collaborations throughout the University and is active in clinical operations and quality improvement in the Medical Center.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Surgery or the foreign equivalent, and 4) have completed a fellowship in Vascular Surgery.
