The College of Veterinary Medicine is recruiting a Senior Veterinary Assistant to serve as an Animal Health Care Instructional Technician within the Veterinary Clinical Skills Program. The primary purpose of this position is to support the advancement of the education of Veterinary Students in an advanced, immersive clinical simulation center. A successful candidate will work with veterinary faculty and Clinical Skills RVTs to deliver the Clinical Skills curriculum to veterinary students during the first three years of their educational program. Duties include, but are not limited to: preparation of laboratory session set-ups; assisting instructors with laboratory training sessions and examinations; maintain laboratory and practice areas; maintain and coordinate care of cadaver specimens, models, simulators, and surgical equipment; secure laboratory equipment and supplies; and perform other duties as needed or assigned. The successful candidate will be expected to work Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week on first shift with the schedule being determined by the teaching needs and local team. This position does not require on-call, overnights, or weekend shifts. There is a pathway for promotion to a Veterinary Clinical Skills Technician (Lab Specialist) contingent on performance review(s) and acquisition of licensure after passing the VTNE.


Additional Information:

Target Salary: $19.52 - $26.04 per hour.
