The Texas A&M College of Nursing is looking for a Senior Administrative Coordinator I to serve as a member of the Center of Excellence in Forensic Nursing and Forensic Nursing academic programs team within the College of Nursing. Required Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience: 

  • Six years of related experience.

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
  • Ability to organize work effectively and prioritize objectives with a high level of discretion and independent judgment and initiative.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelors degree or higher.

Preferred Experience:

  • Five years administrative experience.
  • Two years of grant management and higher education experience.
  • Experience in using distance education technologies and learning management systems.
  • Special event planning and coordination experience.

Preferred Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Administrative Professional (CAP)

Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proven customer service skills.  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with searching databases and supporting grant writing and manuscript preparation.
  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities

Job Description Summary: Serves as Senior Administrative Coordinator I for the Center of Excellence in Forensic Nursing and Forensic Nursing academic programs within the College of Nursing. Provides administrative support to Center/ Forensic Nursing program coordinator and faculty. Coordinates logistics for outreach and continuing education programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative support to Forensic Nursing Center and Academic Program Coordinator and Forensic Program Manager and other faculty as assigned.
  • Support may include development of course materials, scheduling appointments, assistance with special projects, etc.
  • Coordinates and maintains office references and resource materials.
  • Retains and manages office records and data in compliance with record retention policies.
  • Compiles and maintains list of student inquiries for academic programs, and forwards to Office of Student Affairs for follow-up.
  • Assists in the compilation of Forensic Program materials and data, and in the development of project summaries and reports for legislative updates, regulatory compliance and accreditation documents.
  • Compiles, manages and analyzes Forensic Program and Project data for use in the promotion of the Forensic nursing certificate, degree, outreach, and continuing education programs.
  • Plans and coordinates logistics and administrative support for events, meetings, trainings and workshops for the Outreach and Continuing Education Unit.
  • Assists with the development of continuing education courses, seminars, workshops, and programs. Manages the LMS used to deliver continuing education opportunities.
  • Manages the implementation of outreach activities, including all communication, scheduling, venue reservations, ordering of supplies etc.
  • Manages implementation of online courses and programs for outreach including registration, student tracking and data collection etc.
  • Assists Primary Nurse Planner, and Forensic Program faculty, as needed, with development, awarding and tracking of CEs.
  • Assists Communications Manager, as needed, with marketing outreach and continuing education programs.
  • Compiles data for grant proposals and projects, and assists faculty with grant submissions.
  • Maintains files of awarded grant proposals and contracts. Manages time- lines for grants and projects.
  • Works closely with CON Office of Finance and Administration to obtain grant financial information, and responds to inquiries from the Office of Sponsored Research Services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
