Job Summary:  

Our Accounting professionals are critical to the university’s success. The primary focus of Senior Grants Accountant will be accounting for our grants and donation funds. You will be responsible for preparing journal entries and cost transfers, preparing financial reports and invoices, tracking cost sharing, reconciling, closing out grants, and researching and responding to questions and requests from our department administrators across the University. In addition, you will interact with our various school, department, and clinic managers to accurately reflect cash receipts. You will also be called upon to complete journal entries and reconciliations,as well as assist with special projects, for our general and plant funds.  If you are looking to join a team of dedicated and mission-driven accountants, who challenge the status-quo and strive to be better than we were yesterday, this may be the role for you! 


Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related area.
2-4 years' experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Grants or contract experience desirable
Knowledge of accounting operations, laws, and terminology
Verbal and written communication skills
Accounting and bookkeeping skills
Attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively to get results in a complex matrixed organization

Ability to operate a personal computer, and various software programs
Ability to design, analyze, and prepare financial reports
Ability to monitor expenditures and maintain data
Ability to reconcile accounts and prepare analysis
Ability to interpret contracts, accounts, and records
Ability to maintain confidentiality
