Senior Accountant I

With minimal supervision, the Senior Accountant I supports the monthly and year-end financial closing and financial statement preparation processes by preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations. Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Supports technology implementation and process improvement projects.

  • Perform general ledger reconciliations
  • Prepare financial statements, audit work papers, and fulfill audit requests under the supervision of the Accounting Manager
  • Prepare Journal entries
  • Supports technology implementation and process improvement projects under the supervision of the Accounting Manager

 


Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related area.
Minimum of 2 years Accounting experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of financial operations, laws, and terminology
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Knowledge of fund accounting principles
Verbal and written communication skills
Accounting and bookkeeping skills
Attention to detail
Ability to operate a personal computer, and various software programs
Ability to design, analyze, and prepare financial reports
Ability to author journal entries
Ability to reconcile accounts and prepare analysis
Ability to interpret accounts and records
Ability to maintain confidentiality
