Job Details:

Provide programmatic and administrative support for two academic programs within the School of Human Ecology (SoHE): Public Health and Textiles & Apparel.


The Senior Academic Program Coordinator will work with faculty and staff in the Public Health and Textiles & Apparel divisions to successfully manage the daily operations and provide curriculum support in both academic programs.


Responsibilities

  • Daily operations: manage operations, including purchasing and procurement of supplies, collecting relevant information for purchase orders/business contracts (collecting PIFs, setting up vendor IDs, completing EICCC), assist faculty with purchases and travel. Financial management: maintain budgets and track expenditures for programs including the operational and instructional budgets. Oversee financial management of all academic program activities.

  • Course Scheduling: support course related activities in the academic programs including manage course scheduling, room scheduling, course evaluation surveys (CES), assist with catalog changes for multiple degree plans, manage FaSET system, schedule final exams.

  • Curriculum support and plans: assist faculty internships supervisors with organization and tracking of internship sites and contacts; assist SoHE honors program in supporting undergraduate honors students and faculty mentors; coordinate with SoHE and program academic advisors for program planning. Assist program directors and faculty on curriculum plans in both academic programs.

  • Coordinate SACSCOC accreditation reporting requirements for the academic programs using the TracDat system. Maintain databases and provide statistical reports.

  • Hire, train, and supervise instructional teams (i.e., course assistants with a variety of appointment types): recruit, hire and appoint students to positions on Workday, complete onboarding, completing I-9s, and timesheet approval.

  • Support planning and attending faculty and appropriate committee meetings, including taking and disseminating meeting notes and other tasks as needed.

  • Liaison with SoHE staff to update program communications (website, social media).

  • Other related functions as assigned


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and five years of responsible level experience in program management and coordination of programs, or Masters degree and three years of above experience. Proven ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage concurrent projects, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to meet overlapping deadlines. Demonstrated strong organizational skills. General financial and budgeting knowledge. Excellent interpersonal, oral communication, and writing skills. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to perform work independently. Experience supporting faculty and staff. Proficiency using computers, including Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, database programs, electronic calendar and email systems and standard office equipment. Experience working in an academic environment. Supervisory experience.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.


Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate should be innovative, skilled at anticipating shifting trends, a self-starter, highly collaborative, able to work well under changing environments, respond well to feedback, and work well as part of a team. Skilled with interacting with a variety of constituents/customers. Experience with *DEFINE, course scheduling, and Workday. Working knowledge of university policies and procedures and an understanding of university organizational, cultural and academic structure as well as knowledge of resources.


Salary Range

$50,000 + depending on qualifications
