Success in this advising model hinges on each team member’s meticulous attention to detail, effective communication, counseling expertise, as well as their ability to provide sensitive and discreet guidance to students from diverse backgrounds. They are also expected to interpret and implement academic policies and work autonomously in a high-volume, dynamic higher education environment, demonstrating sound judgment, innovation, and initiative.
Beyond individual academic advising, the Senior Academic Advisor will also serve as an instructor in the Business Leader Development (BLD) Program. This program is designed to enhance students’ career readiness and community engagement by fostering forward-thinking and inclusive leadership skills. The Senior Academic Advisor will lead two sections per semester of one of the Business Leader Foundations courses.
