| Job Description | ECU School of Dental Medicine Department is seeking a research assistant. The assistant will assist the supervisor (Dr. Vanessa Pardi) with managing a NIH funded research project – “Overcoming early childhood caries disease burden through the words of mothers (WOM project)”. The research assistant will manage key elements related to preparing for and analyzing qualitative research data. The research assistant will also assist with conducting the interviews and analyzing the subsequent interview data. This community-based participatory research project will take place in Eastern North Carolina. The research assistant must travel to three counties in ENC (4 months to each county, 2-3 days/week). This is a part-time temporary position (20h/week). Typical duties that the research assistant will perform: · Support the research team · Prepares study initiation activities · Attend weekly research meetings · Perform literature reviews on topics pertinent to research project · Communicate with IRB · Monitor the schedule · Screen potential participants · Obtain informed consent · Administer survey instruments · Organize and assist with the conducting of the photovoice sessions · Organize and assist with conducting the interviews · Data entry · Analyze qualitative research data · Maintain the integrity and quality of the procedures and programs for data collection and preparation · Other duties as assigned |
