Job Description
ECU Department of Technology Systems in the College of Engineering and Technology is looking for three graduate students to participate in a research project that focuses on building a comprehensive web application/database system for a government client. Graduate Assistants will work with the project team on the following tasks.
Based on their skill set, the students will be assigned to a selection of the tasks listed below:
  • Software development using PHP, SQL (MariaDB), HTML5, JavaScript, CSS
  • Database design
  • Completing system documentation and user manuals
  • Creating PowerPoint slide decks
  • Communicating with end users of the system to get user feedback
  • Designing software quality tests, conducting the tests, analyzing the results, and creating reports.
  • Developing multimedia elements and integrating them into the software application
  • Designing and developing the GUI elements for the system
  • Assisting the team in project management
  • Configuring hosting systems in a government approved cloud computing environment
  • Deploying and maintaining cybersecurity best practice to the hosting systems
  • Maintaining optimal operation of hosting systems
  • Collecting and analyzing data of the web application and system operation
