This position is for the evening shift: 3:00PM to 9:00PM

Job Responsibilities:

• The candidate will be responsible for the professional operation, administration, and quality assurance of uniformed security services for Berkeley College.

• The Security Officer will lead security officers assigned to one or more posts at Berkeley College Campus. Acts to ensure that all post orders are followed, that established rounds are completed, and that adequate reports are filed.

• Be responsible for the enforcement of the colleges visitor policy. Monitor all campus cameras. Respond to campus emergencies and document incidents.

• Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, and crawling. Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Prior law enforcement experience or Military experience and or 5 years of security supervisory experience, sufficient to meet the requirements of the assigned site, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, as determined by the college.

• Ability to supervise staff, including assigning work and providing training and discipline.

• Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.

• Emergency management experience preferred.

• Knowledge of regulations and laws pertaining to schools.

• Knowledge of/familiarity with managing CCTV and card key systems.

• Experience managing a staff, strongly preferred.

• Security/safety training and certification or equivalent required.

• CPR/AED First Aid Certification, preferred.

• Effective communication skills and experience

• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.

• Must be flexible to work other shifts if needed.
