Part-time One Employer Policy 

Any part-time employee of the university shall not have concurrent employment for any other Church- affiliated employer unless specifically excepted. No part-time employee of any other Church-affiliated employer shall be offered concurrent employment for the university unless specifically excepted. 

Building Security 1/2 Time 

Patrol and inspect buildings and immediate vicinity for security risks during the evening/nights. Help enforce University security policies. Identify suspicious and criminal behavior and coordinate with BYU Police for resolution. Assist sworn officers upon request. Assist with security-related calls for service. Initiate coordination of emergency response. Monitor and run electronic and physical security systems. Provide SAFE WALKS for those who are feeling uncomfortable traversing Campus after dark.

Essential Functions

Education/Experience

Minimum required:

  • High school diploma.

Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications:

  • Must possess a valid United States Driver's License (required)
  • Must be willing to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays (required)
  • Some special event work will also be required (required)
  • Must have regular and consistent attendance at scheduled shift (required)
  • High level of integrity and ethical behavior (required)
  • Self-motivated to problem-solving and learning (required)
  • Composed in emergencies (required)
  • Excellent professional interpersonal skills (required)
  • Proficient: MS Word, familiar with MS programs (required)
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking abilities (required)
  • In good physical condition (required)
  • Confident in confronting people in a professional manner (required)
  • A high level of trust and confidentiality is required (required)
