What Will You Be Doing in This Job?
The Command Center Operator is responsible for the Security Department Command Center operations. This includes, but is
not limited to, answering incoming telephone calls, dispatching calls, documenting service calls, monitoring alarm systems,
monitoring CCTV cameras, maintenance of CCTV recording devices and dispatching medical center wide emergency
broadcasts.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Answers telephones, gathers information and dispatches officers in a polite, professional manner.
• Monitors digital alarms, such as fire alarm, Infant alarm, panic alarm and access control systems; analyzes activations, and
dispatches appropriate personnel.
• Responsible for utilizing the overhead paging system to announce medical codes and pages medical staff and physicians
within the medical center. Receives emergency medical calls and dispatches medical staff to emergency code situations.
• Operates CCTV systems and troubleshoot technical problems.
• Maintains recording devices and review contents for suspects to assist in investigations.
•Monitors the security radio communications equipment for officers in the field and alerting the appropriate personnel in
the event of emergencies, unusual circumstances, and/or officer needs assistance calls. In emergency situations,
responsible for notifying key management personnel, senior staff and appropriate law enforcement agencies.
• Maintains daily dispatch logs, recording all calls to the Security department via the Command Center. Maintains daily log
on contractors working in the medical center which may set off fire alarm systems.
• Monitors activity on the loading dock after normal business hours, allowing access to approved vendors.
• Alerts the shift Watch Commander of any unusual or suspicious activity. Passes on all pertinent information to relieving
staff.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the Command Center; alerts the Watch Commander of any unsafe condition.
